Jo Downs Glass

Jo Downs is one of the world’s most prominent fused glass designers. her advanced fusion techniques allow for the creation of abstract designs of great individuality, vibrant colour, amazing texture and brilliant depth.

Based in the south west of England, in Cornwall, Jo' art draws inspiration from the world around her. Cornwall has a unique light that has inspired artists for years, jo has recognised this and her work complements light, gently working with it and coaxing it to achieve the artistic results she desires. Jo has developed the facilities to undertake large architectural and interior projects. this unique facility and her innovative designs have earned commissions for cruiseliners, the very best hotels from around the world and numerous corporate head offices. she has also enjoyed a variety of private commissions, ranging from family homes to doctors surgeries and churches. panels can be produced up to 4m x 1.5m.

Such artistic skills and glass fusing capabilities have now been married to develop a range of stylish home products available in specialist designer outlets and galleries in the uk and overseas. Jo is continually experimenting and developing her glass designing techniques yet one of the unique qualities of her designs is that each piece is carefully handmade and totally original, no two pieces are ever quite the same.
